Landscape Architecture

Landscape architecture involves the planning, design, management, and nurturing of the built and natural environments. As a Landscape Architect, I have a familiar knowledge of place to transform ordinary outdoor spaces into authentic, vibrant landscapes.

Under the Tree Design creates outdoor spaces that uniquely reflect the lifestyle and personality of the homeowner, creating comfortable environments for families to maximize the living space of their home and extend time outdoors.

Under the Design LLC is authorized as a firm to practice Landscape Architecture in the State of Ohio by the Ohio Landscape Architects Board, Certificate No. LA 1201276

Sophisticated Horticulture

I consider myself a plantsman as well as a Landscape Architect, having a depth of horticulture knowledge spanning years of experience. I have hands-on experience in cultivating, curating, planting, and maintaining both tropical and temperate plant material.

By working directly with plants throughout my career, I have become an expert on the trees, shrubs, and perennials of Ohio. I am well-versed in native plants, landscape restoration, artistic pruning, aesthetic pruning, ornamental pruning and bonsai.

I learned sound horticultural practices while working for Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. I have a history of seeing plants grow over time and I understand how to care for and maintain them properly.

I received the Ohio Nurseryman Master Technician in 2002. This status is granted to individuals who have successfully attained certification in three areas of specialization Grower, Landscape, and Garden Center.
